Comforting Bible Verses for a Grieving Mom
Mother's Day is hard for a mom healing from the pain of miscarriage. While all the other moms are being celebrated you sit off to the side ashamed and alone. You don't fit in with the other moms because instead of holding your baby in your arms, your carry your precious one in your broken heart. If this is you, here are a few Bible verses I want to share with you. I looked to these for comfort while grieving my angel baby and they truly helped me through.
God is with you.
"But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name: thou art mine. When thou pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned: neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." -- Isaiah 43:1-3
"God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and the right early." -- Psalm 46:5
God will guide you through.
"Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." -- Luke 1:78-79
God has given you a future of hope.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." -- Jeremiah 29:11
God hears your cries.
"Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD." -- Jeremiah 29:12-14a
"I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech." --Psalm 17:6
God will wrap you in his arms of comfort.
"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler." -- Psalm 91:4
"For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." -- Isaiah 41:10,13
I hope these verses bring you comfort like they did me. Miscarriage is brutal. Mourning the loss of your baby is devastating and exhausting. But God is with you through this and is holding your precious baby in His arms in heaven.
