What To Do When You Feel Stuck
Ever get down in a funk where you just feel stuck? Like, no matter what you do or how hard you work, nothing is happening? I feel your frustration. I feel this way a lot. But what I've found is I'm not really stuck. I'm at a place where I need to take a step forward that I don't necessarily want to take because it's out of my comfort zone. But by not taking the step needed, I'm holding myself back and trapping myself. It's like locking myself in a cage, putting the key in my pocket, and saying there's no way out. When all I really need to do is take the first step. But taking the first step is scary! So here's what to do when you're feeling stuck.
Why We Need To Keep Moving Forward with Passion
Our journeys through life are constant. Meaning, we're always moving. Sometimes our life plateaus a bit and we have an easy walk. Other times, we come to a steep hill or ominous foggy patch that shakes our confidence and makes us wonder if our break will ever be in sight. And wouldn't you know it--I'm in one of those foggy patches right now.
How An Old Farmhouse Changed My Perspective
"I just made the biggest mistake of my life."
Those were my exact thoughts when we first stepped foot into the old farmhouse we currently live in. Both my husband and I had quit our jobs (he got a new one and I chose to stay at home) to make this move. We were filled with excitement for the adventure ahead. I wouldn't have to work a full time shift work job anymore. Brighton would be closer to his family. We'd be living out in the country with my horses in my backyard. The cost of living would be cheaper here than in Colorado. It all sounded so perfect. That is, until I stepped into the farmhouse we were going to rent.
100% Responsibility with Zero Excuses
It started with Adam and Eve in the garden and will continue as long as the earth spins around the sun. Can you guess what it is? It often happens when we make a mistake or are faulted in some way. It's often how we respond to hard situations. Still no guesses? Okay, let me tell you.
7 Actions to Help you Reach Your Goal
Starting a new project is exciting! Working toward an end goal gives us renewed energy and motivation. However, despite our best intentions, the projects often get pushed to the back burner and are not fully completed. Whether it be life circumstances, depleted energy, or lack of an action plan, we fail to finish what we started. But it doesn't have to be this way! With a little grit and determination while implementing these actionable steps we can achieve just about anything!
How I want to Be From This Year On
Today is New Year's Eve. At midnight tonight a new year dawns and thousands of resolutions are made. I've never been one for New Year's resolutions. The new year isn't the only opportunity for us to make goals and go after them. We have opportunities each and every day to improve ourselves, chase after our dreams, and impact the world. I don't want to wait until a special holiday to take advantage of these opportunities. By then, it might be too late.
However, this year I've come up with three words I want the people in my life to think of when they think of me. They are not goals necessarily because there is no end to these words. There is no final prize or reward. These words are a continuous way of life and thinking that I want to carry on not only through 2019 but for the rest of my life.
TIPS FOR WAKING UP AND STARTING THE DAY WITH MOMENTUM
How we start out in the morning sets the tone for the rest of our day. If we wake up feeling cranky and out of sorts, odds are you're going to be feeling off until you go to bed later that night. But if you wake up ready to get moving and put momentum on your side, you'll be able to be on top of everything that comes your way.
How to Keep Your Joy and Defeat the Lies of Insecurity
We live in a world driven by outward signs for success. Social media, celebrity magazines, and news based media all scream the same battle cry: "Look at me! Look at what I look like! Look at my success!" But are these sources we absorb constantly in our daily grind worth all the hype? Do they inspire you to be a better person or do they make you feel small in comparison?
The truth of the matter is none of these are going out of style anytime soon. If anything, the world continues to care more and more about what the lives of others look like in comparison to the rest of the world. It's a tried and true recipe for insecurity. So how can we keep our confidence in ourselves when our surroundings try to convince us that we aren't enough?
Change can often be scary. We naturally cling to what is familiar and safe. Think of your favorite restaurant. More than likely, you have a go-to entree and it's a rare occasion for you to sample something new. But have you ever tried a new entree and learned you loved it more than your old go-to? The change ended up being for the better!
But change in your life isn't always as simple as trying a new food. Some changes are hard and even making the initial decision of whether to make the change and start something new can be difficult.
Tips for taking Control of the Clock
Time is the world's greatest and, quite possibly, the world's only equalizer. I've said this before but it's worth repeating. No one has more hours in a day than the next person. We all have been given the same amount of hours and minutes. So why do some people seem to accomplish more in a day than others? Why do some people appear to be highly productive, while others struggle to finish a couple tasks on their to-do lists?
The difference comes down to HOW we use our time. Not the amount of time we have, not whether we prefer to wake up early or stay up late. It's all about how we prioritize and plan our days. But what's the best way to utilize the hours we've been handed without having to constantly race the clock and feeling burnt out by the time we crawl into bed?
