How to Keep Your Joy and Defeat the Lies of Insecurity
We live in a world driven by outward signs for success. Social media, celebrity magazines, and news based media all scream the same battle cry: "Look at me! Look at what I look like! Look at my success!" But are these sources we absorb constantly in our daily grind worth all the hype? Do they inspire you to be a better person or do they make you feel small in comparison?
The truth of the matter is none of these are going out of style anytime soon. If anything, the world continues to care more and more about what the lives of others look like in comparison to the rest of the world. It's a tried and true recipe for insecurity. So how can we keep our confidence in ourselves when our surroundings try to convince us that we aren't enough?
Change can often be scary. We naturally cling to what is familiar and safe. Think of your favorite restaurant. More than likely, you have a go-to entree and it's a rare occasion for you to sample something new. But have you ever tried a new entree and learned you loved it more than your old go-to? The change ended up being for the better!
But change in your life isn't always as simple as trying a new food. Some changes are hard and even making the initial decision of whether to make the change and start something new can be difficult.
Tips for taking Control of the Clock
Time is the world's greatest and, quite possibly, the world's only equalizer. I've said this before but it's worth repeating. No one has more hours in a day than the next person. We all have been given the same amount of hours and minutes. So why do some people seem to accomplish more in a day than others? Why do some people appear to be highly productive, while others struggle to finish a couple tasks on their to-do lists?
The difference comes down to HOW we use our time. Not the amount of time we have, not whether we prefer to wake up early or stay up late. It's all about how we prioritize and plan our days. But what's the best way to utilize the hours we've been handed without having to constantly race the clock and feeling burnt out by the time we crawl into bed?
